Green coffee is uncooked coffee beans that have higher levels of chlorogenic acid than ground coffee.   • Caffeine can change the way sugar is processed in the body with diabetes so that it can increase or decrease sugar levels.
  • Caffeine can increase blood pressure, especially in people with high blood pressure.
  • Some types of antibiotics, liquors, or estrogen pills can reduce the body's work in processing caffeine so consuming them with green coffee can increase the risk of headaches, palpitations, and other side effects.
  • Green coffee is also in the form of supplements. However, you should consult before taking it to prevent interactions with other drugs that are being consumed or certain health conditions that are being experienced.
  • Although marketed with natural labels, green coffee supplements are still not free from risks because many plants that are also natural can cause harmful effects. Consumption of green coffee is by a safe dose of up to 480 mg per day for 12 weeks.
  • People with osteoporosis, especially women in menopause, are advised to limit consumption of coffee, including green coffee, to a maximum of 2-3 cups. Also, because there are no studies that confirm the side effects of green coffee in pregnant and lactating women, it is best to keep your consumption safe.

In addition to its functions that have not been proven, beware of side effects that may arise from the consumption of green coffee. Be sure to take it within safe limits and consult a doctor if you experience the above symptoms.
