Lil Nas admits that he got the idea for the photo shoot after listening to Megan Thee Stallion's verse on her upcoming new song, titled Dolla Sign Slime.
"(After hearing the lyrics) I was like, 'Oh my God, this is amazing'. So I immediately called my stylist, and he said, 'Wow, this is all coming together. Your album. Your baby'. Before uploading a 'pregnancy' photo, Lil Nas had time to make a joke by imitating the cover of Drake's latest album "Certified Lover Boy".
On Monday (30/08/2021), Drake announced that his new album would be out on September 3, 2021. Along with the announcement, he uploaded an artwork in the form of a collection of emoji images of pregnant women.
Lil Nas then imitated the concept to announce his “Montero” album, but the pregnant woman emoji was changed to a pregnant man emoji.
“Montero” is Lil Nas X's debut album, most of which were produced in the past year, during the lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic. There are three singles that have been released as a preview of this album, namely Montero (Call Me By Your Name), Sun Goes Down, and Industry Baby (feat. Jack Harlow).
