4. Fever

How to Overcome Sore Throat
Sore throats usually go away on their own within 5-7 days. However, to relieve the symptoms of strep throat, you can do self-treatment at home in the following ways:
- Gargle using a mixture of warm water and 1 teaspoon of salt to reduce sore throat.
- Consume drinks that can soothe the throat, such as warm tea and honey or lemon, as well as soups.
- Use a humidifier to keep the room moist, especially when in an air-conditioned room.
- Avoid talking too much, especially if you have a hoarse voice.
- Drink at least 8 glasses or 2 liters of water every day.
- Avoid exposure to secondhand smoke as it can worsen the symptoms of strep throat.
- Get enough rest by sleeping at least 7 hours every day.
If the various symptoms of sore throat do not improve after doing the various methods above, you can take over-the-counter medications to relieve these symptoms, such as paracetamol or ibuprofen.
Please also note that strep throat can also be caused by stomach acid rising into the esophagus. To relieve it, it is recommended that you avoid consuming foods that are too spicy, sour, or in excessive portions.
